Creating spaces + pieces that capture the essence of "Cozy". They provide a shoppe full of versatile, professional quality pieces; vintage made fresh for your home!
Cozy Home prides themselves in working with high-end, eco-friendly, low to no VOC products, such as Fusion Mineral Paint; which they have been exclusively using for years. It is their goal to be as eco-conscious as they can, in their business + in their lifestyle! They strive to show you how something old can be made over + restyled to fit your current needs + wants, all while keeping still-useful items out of the landfills! Pieces that are uniquely beautiful, recycled + created from the heart, all while supporting a local business - that's something you can feel good about buying!

Cozy Home; Designs By Lacey is owned and operated by Lacey + her partner Kris. Cozy Home was an idea + brand created in 2013. Beginning as a little side job + a creative outlet for Lacey in a small apartment in Durham Region, she finally began selling her furniture + small decor items. Lacey + Kris then moved + opened their doors in Peterborough, Ontario in 2016 as a home-based small shoppe on Lansdowne Street. Cozy Home then moved to a bigger location in beautiful Downtown Peterborough in May 2019, where it is currently located at 183 Charlotte Street!

"Cozy Home", a shoppe in a cozy + rustic setting, full of charm, was a dream + idea that Lacey had carried with her from the young age of 13. She was "born + raised an entrepreneur"; going door to door in her childhood neighbourhood selling homemade juice for a penny, created from berries in her mum's garden. Collecting + packaging by hand, packets of flower seeds + selling them for 25 cents a pack, to creating a "business plan" complete with lists of ideas, products, drawings + a whole floor plan of a garden shed-sized Shoppe, that she presented to her Dad; hoping that he would agree to build her a structure in their back yard that she could sell her products from! Unfortunately, he didn't quite go for it but encouraged her to pursue her creative + entrepreneurial ways!
Both of Lacey's parents were small business owners as well. Beginning a Home Painting + Decorating business together in the late 1980's. Lacey spent most of her childhood on the job sites with her parents, curiously watching + helping them build, paint + use tools. She grew up around painting, woodworking, crafting, repurposing, decorating + creating cozy spaces. She was raised + encouraged to work hard, express her creativity + to work with her hands. She began officially working for her Dad when she was 13 + has since perfected her painting skills + can identify proper prep work necessary for various wood types + surfaces. She has over 15 years experience + learning thanks to her carpenter father + creative mother.
